1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use RuneIndex:

• IP Addresses: Collected to enforce the one-vote-per-12-hours rule and prevent abuse.
• Server Listing Data: Name, description, website, owner email, and other information submitted by server owners.
• Reviews and Usernames: Content you submit when posting reviews, including the display name you provide.
• Payment Information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never store card details on our servers.
• Usage Data: Browser type, pages visited, and time spent on pages collected via standard server logs.
• Support Requests: The name, email address and messages you send through our contact page, and the IP address they were sent from, so we can answer you and prevent spam.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the voting system and prevent fraud.
• To display your server listing and make it searchable.
• To process advertising payments via Stripe.
• To send important notices about your listing (if you provide an email).
• To improve and maintain the Service.
• To enforce our Terms of Service and Toplist Rules.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

• Stripe: For payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Law Enforcement: If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
• Service Providers: Trusted third parties who help us operate the Service, under strict confidentiality agreements.

4. Vote Callback Data

When a player votes for a server, their IP address and optionally their username is transmitted to the server's callback URL as configured by the server owner. Players should be aware that voting may transmit their username to the server they are voting for. This transmission is solely to facilitate in-game rewards.

5. Cookies

RuneIndex uses minimal cookies to maintain session state and remember your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though some functionality may be affected.

6. Data Retention

Vote records are retained for 90 days for integrity purposes. Server listing data is retained for as long as the listing is active. Review data is retained indefinitely unless a removal request is submitted. IP addresses in vote logs are hashed after 30 days. Support conversations are kept so we can refer back to them, and are deleted on request.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure password hashing, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage server owners to use strong, unique passwords.

9. Children's Privacy

RuneIndex is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
